May 26, 2015 - High Speed Internet

As we move forward into the future, technology is evolving rapidly. With a lot of different new toys and new discoveries that make our lives easier and more efficient, it becomes more challenging for us to keep up with the current trends. New UHD (Ultra High Definition) TVs and content that make you feel like you are actually there, are becoming the new normal all over the globe. Cable & Satellite TV is slowly becoming a thing of the past because now you can stream your favorite movies and shows, and they are just a click away on your favorite device. Netflix, Hulu, AmazonPrime, Google Chrome Cast and many others, are taking over screens by storm as they offer a wide variety of content to various different types of viewers.

Now, there are some pros and cons to streaming all your much needed addictions.

PROS

Instant playback
No waiting, watch when you want or have time
It's legal (no pirated content)
Offers high quality content
Most services are commercial free (Hulu is one exception to this

CONS

High bandwidth & data usage
Only available online
The content is not always up to date

Now, each service is different in what they offer and how they offer it, but all of them are going to require some sort of internet connection. Buffering is never a fun thing to sit through and wait for, and making sure that you have the best connection that is fast and reliable, is where we come in. For all your streaming and internet needs, we offer a Fiber Optic like experience, but without putting a huge dent in your wallet. For those who don't know what Fiber Optic is, it is a physical connection that consists of very thin pieces of glass or plastic. One individual fiber strand is about the diameter of a single human hair, and they are all bundled together to create one optical connection. Information is sent through these glass fiber strands using light, which allows you to connect faster than any other type of service available in the marketplace.

This is what we use to provide service to our customers, only we don't always run a direct strand of fiber to your house, as this is extremely expensive and would be cost prohibitive to you the end consumer. Instead, what we do is we purchase large amounts of this fiber optic bandwidth, and then relay that service wirelessly using professional microwave class connectivity via small dishes or panels (similar to that of satellite dishes used for TV only ours are less obtrusive) aimed at one of our towers that are strategically placed all over town. Next we install a small two inch black box that provides you an ethernet port to the inside your home or office and VOILA! You have a dedicated wireless, low latency, and high speed connection to the internet that is not shared with anyone. Think of this like your own personal highway that only you drive on. Pretty cool huh? Streaming is no longer a game of hurry up and wait, but a much more enjoyable and uninterrupted experience with service like this. Why? Because you're not sharing your connection with your neighbors like you would with DSL or Cable internet. To top it all off, Bluespan Wireless does not have data caps or throttling limits, so you are free to stream your heart out watching all your favorite movies, TV shows, etc. You can listen to music or video chat with your family and friends, without an expensive utility bill, being interrupted, or worry about going over your monthly bandwidth allotment.
